Empowering Girls Through Skills Training
We're excited to share details about our latest project in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, which aims to empower teenage girls through vocational training. This summer, we'll be hosting workshops in crochet and cooking, equipping young women with valuable skills that can improve their lives and livelihoods.
Building Confidence and Skills
The project will take place during the long summer holiday, when many girls in Bissau have limited opportunities for learning and growth. By offering workshops in crochet and cooking, we're providing them with a chance to develop new skills, boost their confidence, and learn practical techniques that can be applied in their daily lives.
A Hands-On Approach
The workshops will be conducted at my school, with 20-25 female students participating. Over the course of several days, the girls will learn crochet techniques and explore the art of cooking. They'll have the opportunity to practice their skills and create their own unique projects.

Community Engagement
We're also encouraging the girls to participate in the purchasing process. By helping to buy supplies at the local market, they'll gain valuable experience in budgeting, planning, and teamwork.
A Lasting Impact
The skills acquired through these workshops will have a lasting impact on the lives of the participating girls. They'll be able to use their new knowledge to earn money, improve their living standards, and become more independent. Additionally, their success will inspire others to pursue similar opportunities and develop their own skills.
